Couched Podcast

Couched  is a space to learn from and listen to conversations between people who knit together communities.

Listen in on revealing conversations between psychoanalysts and public figures about social issues facing the world today. Co-hosts, Dr. Billie Pivnick and Dr. Romy Reading invite artists, scientists, social scientists, and community activists to share the ways that their personal experiences have led them to political, social, or creative action. As conversations unfold, new ideas will move listeners to engage with one another and the world, creating community. We are doing this because we believe change happens where minds converge.

The Couched Podcast – sponsored by the Humanities and Psychoanalysis Committee of Division 39 of the APA – aims to optimize the visibility of contemporary psychoanalysis, provide public education about psychoanalytic thought and applications, and generate discussions of current social issues. Hosted bi-weekly by Dr. Billie Pivnick and Dr. Romy Reading, each episode will feature a conversation between a psychoanalyst and a public figure who are both involved in social activism. We believe that these dialogical experiences can provide the engagement needed to forge and repair bonds that link us together. Change happens where minds converge.
